Letters & tiles
The letter bag is 100 tiles: 29 distinct letters — the 26 base letters plus Ä, Ö, and Ü as their own separate tiles. There's no tile for ß at all; words containing it are simply spelled “SS” instead. The tile distribution is a standard 100-tile distribution.

Worth knowing
- Germany, Austria, and German-speaking Switzerland share one standard written orthography for gameplay purposes, so there's no dialect split to make here either.
